Card for this Day: GRACEFULLY AGING

(Courtesy of Butterfly Oracle Cards for Life Changes by Doreen Virtue)

I know what you are thinking….you are thinking that I will write about age and how with age comes wisdom. In a sense this is true, but let’s not put labels on any words for now. Let’s not make assumptions just yet!

Let’s focus on such words as ‘time’, ‘energy’ and ‘limitless’. If I were to tell you that no matter how old you are, chronologically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, or physically, you can still achieve what you have set out to do on this earth, from the moment you were conceived, a beautiful thought of existence, your soul decided to come to this planet to make this world a better place….this is what your intentions have always been.

Since we need to re-adjust our thinking of what is seen as ‘old’ and ‘young’ to what is truly beautiful deep within our soul being.  You can be young and still have this ‘old soul’ energy of existence – meaning that you have lived many lifetimes before; sharing your ancestral teachings of the past with others. The vice versa can also be applied: You can be old, but be young at heart – embracing your inner child everyday, and not be embarrassed to behave like a child sometimes – because we all have this inner child that needs to be expressed and loved.

How do we gracefully age? This is a tough question to answer. Perhaps it’s knowing that life is short and we need embrace whom we truly are. Perhaps physically we may only live for a certain number of years such as between 80 and 90 years of age – for others it is less than this. You can view this as your current lifetime. Our soul truly only knows how long we live for, because we each have our own karmic lessons and blessings to live through.

However, our soul never dies. it lives – forever. It remembers all the lives of the past that we have experienced and what we need to experience in order to grow fully on a spiritual plane.

If we all believe that everything has a Divine purpose, no matter how long or short one’s life is, thing how truly remarkable every single human being achieves throughout their life, it’s their soul’s legacy of and for a Higher Purpose that lives on. It leaves of legacy of only love for humanity and this world.

Your life legacy is Divine energy, and that my friend, is limitless.

Additional meanings of this card:

  • Caring for aging parents or other elders
  • Learning from an elder
  • A change in beauty-care routines
  • Preparing for retirement

“Shunya Mudra” or “Heaven Mudra”

Here is a Mudra for today to help you release and let go of what no longer serves you. This Mudra is called “Shunya Mudra” or “Heaven Mudra”. It is a Heavenly connection to the Divine! The middle finger is associated with the sky or (ether) which helps in connecting you to the gateways to higher dimensions – the gateway to Heaven.

According to many ancient myths, in order to get to Heaven, we first must be purified. This mudra also helps to ‘look within’ ourselves and to help us forgive ourselves for any wrong doing as well as other people for their wrong doing. This mudra also helps to clear our ear chakras and release any hearing difficulties, as well so that we can hear what we wish to hear, or if we previously had trouble hearing something.

May you and your loved ones always be blessed for this New Moon.

Affirmation: “I recongise the goodness of the Universe in the Heavenly sound”.

Card of the Day: SOUTHERN CROSS – PATHFINDER

(Courtesy of Dreamtime Reading Cards by Laura Bowen)

If you’re not familiar with the Southern Cross, it is a constellation in the night sky in the Southern Hemisphere. It does look like a symbol of a cross for example found in Christianity.

Indigenous Australians for many thousands of years have used the stars to navigate and learn how to find their way back home when there were travelling or walkabout, or hunting. This skill was taught at a very young age and passed on from their Aboriginal elders from generation to generation.

Why was this so important? It was a life and vital lesson skill necessary to help each man, woman and child find their own tribes or communities. Navigation wasn’t only just by Indigenous Australian astrology, but also by communicating deeply with the Australian native plants, animals and wildlife.

This card is a message to reminder you that we are all seek our own unique path. We are all meant to find our own path – especially to find our own path home. Home is where the heart is, and we need to remember to always come from a place of love, compassion and strength within ourselves.

This is also a message to also keep on striving to keep on going towards the things that we are passionate and love about. Why be in a job or a career that you hate if you aren’t motivated or passionate about? Why not find a path towards a job or career that you are motivated and inspired to do?

If you really love someone, tell them. Don’t waste any time by not saying a word. A path towards any type of happiness, there may have a chance of heartache, but how will you know until you try to walk that path?

Yes, it is difficult not to know what is ahead of us, but by trusting and having faith that our destination, our home is just within reach, makes life more fulfilling; to learn and enjoy every footprint we leave on our own unique path.

Keep the faith xoxo

Card of the Day: SHE OFFERS THE SACRED WINE, SO DRINK!

(Courtesy of Rumi Oracle by Alana Fairchild)

“O wine giver of enlighten hearts!
Offer me the wine of your kindness,
for this is the reason
you have brought me here
from the desert of oblivion!
O beautiful wine giver!
Pour me wine that gives me insight,
Offer me wine from the Sea of Love
and filled with my heart with pearls.
Pour it into my heart,
until I shred the veil and go beyond reason.
My spirit is consumed by judgments,
and my life is reduced by thoughts.
Pour that precious wine
over the frozen cries of skeptics
until their words become warm,
and their nays, become yeas!”

– RUMI

Rumi’s message for today is to have some fun! Beloved, you have been working too hard and while the Divine is working in partnership towards your desired goals, aspirations and dreams, you also need the opportunity to have sun and enjoy your life!

Let go of any fears, worries, or even the seriousness of life! It’s time to embrace the joy of living and to be living in the moment. We seem to be consumed by our own thoughts, judgments or emotions (or that of other people) when really, this doesn’t matter.  While it is human nature to put such pressure on ourselves, either we do this consciously or subconsciously and/or we put such pressure on those that we love and cherish; this isn’t necessary. Life is an experience and while there are everyday pressures of work, study/education, family, social and health commitments – we need to have a delicate balance in mind.

We can’t change people, but we can change ourselves if we choose too. We can’t be held responsible for other people, but we can be held responsible for ourselves. It is all down to our own personal choices that each person makes. Keep in mind that there’s always going to a skeptic or naysayer who believes you should do this, or that…or whatever. We can’t always please or make other people happy.

So why not come back to a place of contentment, harmony, balance and peace of yourself? And yes, this does mean acting out like a child at times -or even embracing your inner child, even if you are an adult! We all deserve to have some fun and enjoy our life. Why? Because life is meant to be enjoyable and we are here to learn, to grow and to learn more about ourselves – at any age.

This Sacred Wine is also very symbolic to mean that a Divine gift will be given to you as a door to a pathway to your next step to your Spiritual Awakening to your heart, your soul, your inner eye, your inner being. While you may not understand completely why or how this awakening will help you on your journey, just have faith and trust that it will.

Keep on shining your light and love to Earth, as Heaven mirrors this energy from above.

Love and light xoxo

Native Wisdom for today: COMMUNICATION

(Courtesy of the Native Wisdom for White Minds: Daily Reflections Inspired by the Native Peoples of the World by Anne Wilson Schaef)

Wisdom for the day of: Thursday, August 16, 2018

“Oh, be quiet, crow. We hear you.”
“That old crow is a messenger. He’s telling us where to go to find Aunt Millie. He is leading the way.”

– Lorraine, Aboriginal Elder.

On this trip, we were supposed to meet with Aunt Millie a ninety-three-year-old Aboriginal Elder and Keeper of Sacred Sites. But we weren’t sure where Aunt Millie was.

I have to say there was a crow whenever we stopped., and it was noisy. I did not know the language of the crow, but my companions do. Who knows, I thought, he may speak the only language of the Australian Aboriginal. That’s not it, though, because my Native friends the world over tell me that the crow is a messenger.

Animals seem to speak a universal language. Maybe if we understood and spoke the language of the animals, we wouldn’t have to translate for humans. Australian Aboriginals say that if we have nothing to hide, all of us can communicate telepathically.

We found Aunt Millie.

When I learn to listen to nature, I am never lost.

The Seven Factors of Enlightenment – Oldest Buddhist Teachings

These Seven factors of Enlightenment are mental attitudes or values that are from the oldest Buddhist teachings to prepare any individual to a desirable state of being mindfully aware of any situation, issue or person at any given moment.

So, let’s briefly…. look!

MINDFULNESS
The awareness and the ability to be fully present; an awareness of the reality of things; it is considered an antidote to delusion to be in a clear and relaxed awareness of what is going on around you, and to focus on any topic, person or issue. A state of no distractions.

INVESTIGATION
Investigation requires that we investigate that Dharma (Universal Truth) for ourselves. We seek our own self-reflection and consideration of reality. As the Buddha said:

“Believe nothing no matter what you read it or who said it, unless it agrees with your common season and observation.”

Buddha is suggesting here that we are not to practice the Dharma simply because he said so, rather, to understand and experience it for ourselves. Buddha wanted us to utilize our minds to the fullest capacity…. not be empty minded!

DILIGENCE (ENERGY)
Diligence means to keep on persevere and not to give up. We live in a world where there are many distractions – such as various technologies for example, or even a lack of understanding or communication. This applies to both a global and personal level of an individual. However, with great persistence, patience and perseverance anything is possible!

CONTENTMENT (JOY)
Joy and gratefulness accompanies useful thinking. It can help you see, believe and help you try something new. You aren’t practicing mindfulness, because you must; you are practicing mindfulness to transform your life; to enhance the quality of your life, to bring more contentment and joy into your life. In turn, this brings more joy, and brings an attitude of gratitude.

TRANQUILITY
Tranquility refers to our willingness to find inner peace. By inner peace, I mean to find relaxation. This represents the ability to manage one’s stress or anxiety. For example, when you take a deep breath of air in, when you are feeling upset, angry, nervous or sad…. you are engaging in tranquility. It is knowing when you need to find or need relaxation that is very important.

CONCENTRATION
Concentration is the ability to focus. When we strength our focus on our ability to concentrate, it gives us real insight into our lives. But, it is something that we must develop and strength over time. Improving our concentration helps us in many ways as focusing us on something we’re studying, new projects at work, improving our listening or verbal skills, etc. Concentration is like a lamp, the stronger it is, the more of the mind we can see.

EQANUIMITY
Equanimity is one of the deepest factors of all, and one of the hardest. It represents facing the difficulties of life, our challenges, our problems, without becoming attached to them. I know, this is a strange concept, yet, most profound! Equanimity is the ability of not allowing or the ability to let your challenges, obstacles or problems become bigger than you. In other words;  when something bad happens, we become stressed or angry about it, we often make a situation worse than it is. If we face a problem with equanimity, then we don’t let a problem become bigger than ourselves.

As human beings, we have a tendency in our lives to make things larger than they are. Equanimity is out ability to resist that. It is all about taking a different perspective of seeing things – our problems and challenges in a different light. With these Seven factors towards Enlightenment, we can learn more about ourselves, and what is truly important in our lives.

The Guest House

(Written by Mewlana Jalaluddin Rumi)

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.

A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.

Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.

The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.

Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

Card for the Day: SACRED UNION

(Courtesy of RUMI ORACLE by Alana Fairchild)

“Only the oneness of love, and the lover is eternal.
Surrender your heart into the union.
For all else in the world is momentary.”

– RUMI

Love is a unique and powerful force. Love is all around us, and there is a Divine connection in everything. We have a sacred union between our mind and our bodies, we also have a sacred union to a heart and our soul.

When you discover your own twin flame, your soul mate, your significant other – this Divine connection is uncanny. You may not understand why you feel so connected, or attracted to this person, but this unique and beautiful connection has drawn you to them.

So what if you haven’t meet this person? Don’t you fret, beloved! A Sacred Union always identifies themselves through their own mirror image. We all share a common ground, a common existence with the one person that we are meant to be with. One that has been written in the stars; it has been written in our Akashic records long before our very existence.

So when this love does occur in its own Divine time, and its own way, a sacred union between two lovers happens because of a Divine soul connection of two people.

This is truly what a sacred union is: a Divine, spiritual, accepting, sacred, mutual understanding between two people.

And so it is…..love.

With love and blessings,

Libby
