Who do you need to forgive? Or have you forgiven yourself? Like it or not, forgiveness, is a paramount in the human existence and in human emotion. So, what is forgiveness?  Most dictionaries define forgiveness as ‘the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, letting go of any of negative emotions such as vengefulness, bitterness, resentment, or anger with an increased ability to wish the offender well.’

How often as we as human beings have reflected on such a profound and life changing process? Have we thought to perhaps consider that we haven’t forgiven others (and ourselves) as often as we should or could have? While everyone has their own personal journey, life experiences and free will – think about releasing old static energy and deep repressed emotions because of not forgiving other people because of these assumptions or judgments.

Many people from all walks of life, in spirituality and in history have demonstrated the act of forgiveness. The late Nelson Mandala who was the former President of South Africa; is a famous example. For being in prison for 27 years of his life, due his stance on black rights in South Africa, which Mandala showed forgiveness and compassion for those who imprisoned him years before.

Another famous example of forgiveness which frankly still a long way to go. On February 13th, 2008, the Australian Government issued a formal apology in Australian Parliament to all Indigenous Australians who were forcibly removed from their parents, and families by Australian State and Federation agencies.  This was also known as the Stolen Generation. While it can’t repair the physical, mental, emotional, sexual or spiritual damage of these generations of children and their families, it is a step forward towards reconciliation – of understanding of our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

The Pink Tourmaline helps to open your heart towards forgiveness and helps you to understand whom you need to forgive. Perhaps even to find the right words to say to the person or persons whom you need to forgive. If you can’t speak to them in person – why not speak to them in Spirit? Ask for forgiveness through Spirit, through journaling, through meditation, through prayer, through speaking with your Higher Self.

You can also use the same techniques to ask for forgiveness for yourself. What do you need or want to forgive about yourself? Even if the answers don’t come to you straight away, trust that your Spirit and the Divine Spirit will guide you. There’re no right or wrong answers here. Trust your intuition.

Finally, the wonderful thing about forgiveness….it always makes everything anew!

So, in brief:

  • Stone of grace, aligning your soul with the Divine vibration
  • Assists in releasing blame and guilt; and finding deep forgiveness
  • Powerfully opens the heart
  • Transforms barriers around the heart chakra
  • Opens you to experience the magic and joy that life has to share
  • Increases and encourages spontaneity and fun

Namaste xo

If you’re not familiar with the Southern Cross, it is a constellation in the night sky in the Southern Hemisphere. It does look like a symbol of a cross for example found in Christianity.

Indigenous Australians for many thousands of years have used the stars to navigate and learn how to find their way back home when there were travelling or walkabout, or hunting. This skill was taught at a very young age and passed on from their Aboriginal elders from generation to generation.

Why was this so important? It was a life and vital lesson skill necessary to help each man, woman and child find their own tribes or communities. Navigation wasn’t only just by Indigenous Australian astrology, but also by communicating deeply with the Australian native plants, animals and wildlife.

This card is a message to reminder you that we are all seek our own unique path. We are all meant to find our own path – especially to find our own path home. Home is where the heart is, and we need to remember to always come from a place of love, compassion and strength within ourselves.

This is also a message to also keep on striving to keep on going towards the things that we are passionate and love about. Why be in a job or a career that you hate if you aren’t motivated or passionate about? Why not find a path towards a job or career that you are motivated and inspired to do?

If you really love someone, tell them. Don’t waste any time by not saying a word. A path towards any type of happiness, there may have a chance of heartache, but how will you know until you try to walk that path?

Yes, it is difficult not to know what is ahead of us, but by trusting and having faith that our destination, our home is just within reach, makes life more fulfilling; to learn and enjoy every footprint we leave on our own unique path.

Keep the faith xoxo

Why Domestic Violence Affects Us All

Author’s Note:

CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses domestic, family, and sexual violence. If you need any medical advice please consult a registered medical professional.

Domestic Violence in Australia is a very real and huge problem that not only affects people and their children, families, and the health and welfare systems, but it leaves lifelong scars on physical, mental, emotional, sexual and spiritual levels. Many people experience a range of mental health issues including but not limited to, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) anxiety and depression, insomnia, and thoughts of suicide. It also causes much stress for those who care for these people who are the victims of these horrendous crimes.

Predominantly, most of the victims of these terrible crimes are women, we can’t forget that male victims to that have suffered as much as their female peers. The statistics in Australia are frightening and should be noted that it is a more than a gender issue, but a greater society issue.

The Statistics for Australia in regards to Domestic Violence:

• 1 in 6 women and 1 in 16 men have experienced physical and/or sexual violence or assault by a current or previous partner since the age of 15.
• 1 in 5 women and 1 in 20 men have experienced sexual violence by a partner since age of 15.
• 1 woman a week and 1 man per month is killed by their current or former partner.

Other alarming statistics from the ABS Personal Safety Survey, and the Australian Institute of Criminology in regards to men who are victims of any form of violence:

• 1 in 2 Australian men have experienced physical violence
• 1 in 7 Australian men have experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner,
• 1 in 22 Australian men have experienced sexual violence.
It must be stressed that any type of violence in relationships or friendships is NOT OKAY. Everyone deserves to feel safe, respected and secure for their personal safety within their respected relationships.

Why Does Domestic Violence Occur?

This is a difficult question to answer. It is all about power and control between perpetrator and their victim. There is perhaps different reasons, why people chose to abuse another person, but I’m not a doctor, psychologist or psychiarist, so I will not diagnosed any one or anything. But, it is NOT the victim’s fault.

Warning Signs of Domestic Violence:

The Victim:

• Sudden and drastic changes in appearance
• Spending all their free time with the abuser
• No contact with friends, family, co-workers, neighbours,
• Sudden mood swings, crying a lot
• Is very stressed with physical symptoms
• Sudden changes in behaviour or daily actions
• Defends the actions or behaviour of his or her abuser

The Abuser:

• Sudden or drastic mood swings
• Acts macho or cocky
• Is jealous or controlling
• Cruelty to animals and/or to children
• Has a history of battery or other acts of violence
• Blames other people for their problems

What to do

If you are a victim….

• Decide when any form of abuse is too much
• Tell someone you trust about the abuse
• Document any injuries that you may have or suspect (or see a medical professional)
• Call a local confidential counselling hotline for support and help
• Fill out and work out your personalised safety plan
• Seek support from relevant police & medical authorities
• REMEMBER the abuse is NEVER your FAULT!

If you believe someone you know is being abused…..(Family, friends, neighbours, other relatives, etc)

• Learn as much as you can about the abuse. Remember, the person who is being abused, needs to tell someone that they trust.
• Listen and understand from this person about their abuse
• Document or write about the abuse (any injuries or details). Please seek medical intervention from a professional doctor ASAP for help (if necessary)
• Call a local confidential counselling hotline for support, and to learn more valuable resources to help the victim
• Help the victim with their personalised safety plan (if necessary)
• Be patient, maintain confidentiality & seek support from relevant police authorities (if necessary)

In Conclusion…..

We all have a part to play to ensure that everyone in our society feels secure within their being. As a Australian society and global society, we have a social responsibility to look out for one another. Yes, there’s some bad people in the world out there, who – for reasons known to them, wish to hurt other people. Nevertheless, there’s also some compassionate, kindhearted, descent people who want to ensure that one, each of us does no harm to another person.

While everyday life has its struggles, pressures and obstacles, it doesn’t excuse any form of violence, or disrespect on any human being. Life is so precious, and we can all agree that we need to treasure what we have in our lives.

We have a long way to go in order to change these statistics. Every single life on Earth is precious. If we see ourselves as human beings and we can learn to work together both men, women, children from many different communities, cultures, languages, creeds, religions, and belief systems – we can come from a place understanding. We need to realise that this is a deep society issue and not a gender issue. It is everyone problem because it does affect everyone. We don’t know who is being abused and who isn’t – because people aren’t willing to open up about this very much taboo topic.

Domestic violence affects everyone because we see it in the news, in the newspapers, on social media and on the Internet. The victims are someone’s child – son, daughter, mother, father, sister, brother, cousin, aunty, uncle – you name it. The list can go on…..we owe it to the victims and their families to ensure that we can make a wrong from this present time into a right – into a change for good.

What we can learn from Indigenous & First Nation People

About this article….Please Read

The terms, Aboriginal, Indigenous, and First Nation people are often used interchangeably or prioritized differently by different groups, communities, or individuals who might identify as traditional owners or occupiers of a nation land or country.

It is not my intention as the author of this blog article to offend or misrepresent the identity of anyone who identifies themselves as a member of the above community groups and it is the sovereign right of each person to identify as they see accurate and appropriate for them.

These terms are utilized to represent the traditional people and cultures of the lands known to be invaded, occupied and colonized by others (namely by the British and European Settlers)

This includes but is not exclusive to Australia, United States of America, Canada, and New Zealand.

While we can’t change the wrongs of the past, we can send healing to the past, and learn from the past. We can all endeavor to try to correct the wrongs of the past, by ensuring peace, love, harmony and understanding among all the nations of the World.

In the beginning….

No, I’m not speaking from a biblical point of view, but before most of Western civilization occurred, much of spirituality came from Aboriginal, Indigenous and First Nations People, many of these communities had a deep appreciation, understanding of the world around them. It is hard to imagine a world where, they were simply dependent on nature for food, shelter, protection and sex (for procreation). So therefore, they had a deeper awareness of nature and of themselves. Plus, these individuals, in their tribes – while each Indigenous and First Nation group and culture will vary, around the world, were able to teach each other life skills (i.e. catching food, cooking food, protection against wildlife) to survive in nature. Basically, for many centuries, how to survive and to protect themselves and their families. This was not only essential for their lives but had a strong sense of community and belong.

Evolution in human beings has always show us our fight and flight response, when we have faced danger or had to make a quick decision. In every culture around the world for many millenniums, this has been occurring and even in modern society it still occurs today.

Spiritual Connections….

Aboriginal Australians are the 1st and truest Australians with one of the oldest civilizations in history of approximately 40,000 – 60,000 years. They have their own unique and special culture of the Dreamtime which hold valuable stories of varies religious and cultural Aboriginal beliefs. It is their way of connecting to the Divine and they see everything as a sacred and a Divine connection. It is also how the Indigenous Australia explain how human beings were created and what our purpose in life is.

Native Americans have a deep connection to the Wakan Tanka, which is their term for the Divine or Great Spirit. Again, each tribe varies in how they call the Divine Spirit, such as the Sioux and Lakota tribes; but the Spiritual Connection is prominent among all tribes.

Shamanism and Health….

For centuries, First Nations and Indigenous communities around the world have known the benefits of nature, energy healing, trance, dance and music to heal the human body. Both men and women in many different indigenous cultures worldwide have been called to be Shamans. Shamans use many different tools and knowledge to help people to educate themselves and to be living in a state of authenticity and peace. Shamans use crystals, sage, herbal medicines, medicine wheel, drums & vocal music, just to name a few ways to help people.

Shamans may have psychic abilities to see auras, foretell futures, have mediumship skills or have a deep understanding and communicate with animals or plants.

A shaman’s role is to guide people to help them heal themselves. We ourselves, if we are lucky enough to come across the wise Shaman is to ask for guidance, but the real work comes back to you.

What can we learn from them now?

We are constantly learning, growing and evolving as human beings. However, the world is becoming too materialized and focused on little problems. Have we forgotten about the lessons of the past? We are stressed, have daily pressures, and there is a constant rise in mental health problems and issues for men, women and children.

I’m not say that the generations before us had it easier or simpler. Far from it. I’m sure they still had similar issues that we face today. But if you think about it – they had their share of challenges and adversity.

I’m also not saying we should go back in time. I am saying that we should consider holistic and alternative lessons. We need to listen to our internal spiritual self, as opposed to our external self. We need to stop and smell the roses, literally!

Our Spiritual forebearers of every culture from all the corners of the globe realized that there’s a difference between what you need and what you want. And we still need to learn that lesson. They had everything they need to survive – and they still survived….and thrived!

They still were about to grow spiritually and holistically with the knowledge that Great Spirit provided for them.

Are you ready to receive a call from the Dreamtime?

“O wine giver of enlighten hearts!
Offer me the wine of your kindness,
for this is the reason
you have brought me here
from the desert of oblivion!
O beautiful wine giver!
Pour me wine that gives me insight,
Offer me wine from the Sea of Love
and filled with my heart with pearls.
Pour it into my heart,
until I shred the veil and go beyond reason.
My spirit is consumed by judgments,
and my life is reduced by thoughts.
Pour that precious wine
over the frozen cries of skeptics
until their words become warm,
and their nays, become yeas!”

Rumi’s message for today is to have some fun! Beloved, you have been working too hard and while the Divine is working in partnership towards your desired goals, aspirations and dreams, you also need the opportunity to have sun and enjoy your life!

Let go of any fears, worries, or even the seriousness of life! It’s time to embrace the joy of living and to be living in the moment. We seem to be consumed by our own thoughts, judgments or emotions (or that of other people) when really, this doesn’t matter.  While it is human nature to put such pressure on ourselves, either we do this consciously or subconsciously and/or we put such pressure on those that we love and cherish; this isn’t necessary. Life is an experience and while there are everyday pressures of work, study/education, family, social and health commitments – we need to have a delicate balance in mind.

We can’t change people, but we can change ourselves if we choose too. We can’t be held responsible for other people, but we can be held responsible for ourselves. It is all down to our own personal choices that each person makes. Keep in mind that there’s always going to a skeptic or naysayer who believes you should do this, or that…or whatever. We can’t always please or make other people happy.

So why not come back to a place of contentment, harmony, balance and peace of yourself? And yes, this does mean acting out like a child at times -or even embracing your inner child, even if you are an adult! We all deserve to have some fun and enjoy our life. Why? Because life is meant to be enjoyable and we are here to learn, to grow and to learn more about ourselves – at any age.

This Sacred Wine is also very symbolic to mean that a Divine gift will be given to you as a door to a pathway to your next step to your Spiritual Awakening to your heart, your soul, your inner eye, your inner being. While you may not understand completely why or how this awakening will help you on your journey, just have faith and trust that it will.

Keep on shining your light and love to Earth, as Heaven mirrors this energy from above.

Love and light xoxo

The Shadow journey can be a powerful and enrichening experience on many levels of the soul. This card comes to you today as a reminder to cleanse and release yourself from any burden or worry. We use bathrooms for very private matters, a place to wash up, a place of solitude, and a place to get prepped. However we either, consciously or subconsciously transfer our burdens (or junk) onto others, or the reverse – others may transfer their burdens (or junk) onto you. This is a time to pay attention to what you are feeling – your true wisdom of what is actually going on here. Sometimes all you can do is release these worries or burdens, even if you’re not sure why they have come up to you, (this could be someone else trying to take your own power away from you).
But please keep in mind and be aware not to unload these feelings onto someone else!

Wrap yourself with Divine white light and ask for protection and clarification. When you get rid of any unwanted or unnecessary feelings, or attitudes you will become more grounded. It is the time to take care of yourself and remember that you are a powerful and loveable human being. You can ask for extra protection if you are more sensitive around certain people, place or energies.
